The European Microwave Week 2008 continues the series of successful microwave events, following Amsterdam (1998 and 2004), Munich (1999, 2003 and 2007), Paris (2000 and 2005), London (2001), Milan (2002), and Manchester (2006) with its 11th Conference and Exhibition Week. In the last week of October 2008 the event will be held again in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This conference series has continued to grow and is now the premier event in this field in Europe. The European Microwave Week now consists of four conferences:
-
The European Microwave Conference (EuMC)
-
The European Wireless Technology Conference (EuWiT)
-
The European Radar Conference (EuRAD)
-
The European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC)
The week provides the opportunity to attend these four conferences, and various workshops and short courses given by leading experts in their field. Moreover, the European Microwave Exhibition constitutes the largest trade show on RF and microwaves in Europe.
Application oriented high exposure side events will be held in parallel to the European Microwave Week 2008 conferences (EuMW2008) during the tradeshow to leverage the impact.
The EuMW2008 will also host for the first time a “Women in Engineering” event.
The Week focuses on the needs of engineers and researchers and seeks to serve both academia and industry. The week provides an opportunity for both communities to consider the latest trends and developments that are widening the field of application of microwaves. Microwave devices, systems for telecommunications (both terrestrial and space borne), transportation, medical, radar and new fields of application will be in the programme. Particular emphasis will be placed on the coordination of areas of common interest between the different conferences, workshops and short courses.
The location of EuMW2008 will be the Amsterdam RAI. The venue is easy to access with very good transportation from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport and railway stations. Hotel accommodation is available throughout Amsterdam with good connection to the Amsterdam RAI by public transportation. |
