  ICON Wireless Control Market Expanding

Customer demand for intelligent control applications will push revenues in the US for wireless and powerline controls from $740 million in 2008 to more than $3 billion in 2012, according to a new report from Parks Associates, "Opportunities for Wireless and Powerline Controls." The report projects a rapid expansion in the installed base for these technologies, to nearly 60 million in 2012. According to Bill Ablondi, Director, Home Systems Research, Parks Associates. "The era of electronic home controls has arrived. Technological advancements, the migration to IP-based systems, and the entry of key companies are all driving this market." In addition to remote home monitoring, the report finds entertainment controls, including advanced universal remote controllers, will drive growth in wireless controls. Lighting applications will drive the opportunities for powerline controls.
