ICON 38th European Microwave Conference 2008

The 38th European Microwave Conference (EuMC) that will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 28 to 30 October, is the core of European Microwave Week 2008, the largest event in Europe dedicated to microwave electronics.

The European Microwave Conference is the premier forum for the presentation of the actual status and future trends in the field of microwave and millimetre-wave systems, technologies and applications. A broad range of high-frequency related topics, from materials and technologies to integrated circuits, systems and applications will be addressed in all their aspects: theory, simulation, design and measurement. Examples include the latest developments for modelling and design of microwave photonics and MEMS, RF-ID and Ultra Wide Band Systems, new linearization techniques and the impact of new packaging technologies on development applications.

Special emphasis will be placed on the application of microwave technologies in field of homeland security and medical systems, both areas with increasing attention and opportunities for microwave technologies. The scope also includes electromagnetic field theory, theoretical and experimental developments in wave propagation, scattering and antenna systems, and advanced simulation techniques. In addition to scientific papers, contributions are encouraged on industrial applications, covering the fields of instrumentation, medical, telecommunication, radar, space, automotive and defence systems.

In order to reach a wider audience, the presenters of posters will be offered a time slot in an interactive posters session. This interactive poster session will be held jointly with EURAD during a separate timeslot without EUMC and EURAD oral sessions. This should optimise poster session attendance. During this session the authors can present real-time operation of developed hardware or software or demonstrate movies (or slide-shows) showing operation of complete systems. Tables and power will be provided. This
